Hollywood is banding together to make sure what happened to Sarah Jones never happens again.
"The Vampire Diaries" crew member, 27, was tragically killed on a film set last month in Georgia due to unsafe working conditions. She was struck by a train while filming the Greg Allman biopic "Midnight Rider," and seven others were injured. The accident is currently under investigation.
On Friday (March 7), more than 500 film industry workers gathered in West Hollywood to pay tribute to Jones, the LA Times reports. The union members carried candles and wore shirts that read "We're all Sarah Jones" and "Never Forget. Never Again." as they walked along Sunset Boulevard from the Directors Guild of America building to the International Cinematographers Guild.
Sarah's father, Richard Jones, thanked everyone for their support and called for safer film sets, so that this tragedy would never happen again. "This is not the end, but rather the beginning of a movement for safer film sets," Jones says. "There is no reason for another father to give you this talk." See more
