'The Walking Dead' season 4 episode 14 sneak peek 'The Grove' (videos)

Walkers growling. Bugs buzzing.
Leaves rustling. Engines running.
Footsteps crunching. Bullets flying.
Conversation.
These familiar sounds have dominated the audio landscape of "The Walking Dead" series until episode 14 titled "The Grove."
But for the first time since the apocalypse began, we hear music. We hear the gas and its flame on a stove.
The luxury of such modern conveniences stands in stark contrast with the brutality of those struggling to survive, as we revisit Tyreese, Carol, Judith, Lizzie and Mika, and await an explanation for Beth's whereabouts.

Room with a view
In one of the previews, the camera pans through a kitchen filled with pots and food The low hiss of a flame warms a kettle. Music plays softly in the background.
The camera stops at a dirty window, where a walker is seen chasing someone in what appears to be the backyard of a house.
This scene is disturbing on several levels. We could be watching this chase from someone's particular point of view, a dispassionate observer content to watch from a safe distance.
Or we could be seeing the story unfold before us.
This voyeurism -- ours and the person in the kitchen -- makes the scene all the more horrifying and inhuman. Could this woman be Beth? And who is the person watching her? See more
